When the curtain goes up on Bluff City Theater’s new production of Win Well’s award-winning play Gertrude Stein and a Companion, two of St. Louis most acclaimed actors will be on stage.  Both Laura Ackermann and Susie Wall have extensive resumes at many of St. Louis’ leading theater companies, including The Muny, Stages St. Louis, The Rep, The Shakespeare Festival, Insight Theater and The New Jewish Theater.  Both actors also boast film and TV credits.

Bringing great performers to tell great stories is what Bluff City Theater is all about.  In our intimate 90-seat theater, performances are always up close and personal.  This play is a remarkably poignant and frequently funny look at the life of one of America’s most-celebrated ladies of letters.  Directed by John Contini, Gertrude Stein and a Companion is the second production in our 2016 Season , dedicated to stories about strong female characters.
