Final Notice-2020 Auditons at The Zack Theater 3226 Locust St. Louis

Bluff City Theater will be holding open auditions for 3 of 4 plays in the 2020 Season this January. Equity and non-equity actors are welcome to audition.

Eugene O’Neill’s Tony and Pulitzer-prize winning story based on his own troubled family is his legacy to the world of literature.
Following are the roles we are seeking to fill:
Trying by Joanna McLelland Glass June 1-27
Judge Francis Biddle Male, 80’s
Sarah Schorr Female. 20’s
Long Days Journey into Night by Eugene O’Neil June 29-July 25
JAMES TYRONE – 65, actor
MARY CAVAN TYRONE, 56, his wife
JAMES TYRONE, Jr. – 33, their elder son
EDMUND TYRONE – 23, their young son

What happens when your country seems to have forotten you? You secede from the union…
CATHLEEN – early 20s, their maid
Forgottonia by Colin Healy July 27-August 22
JANE HORN — female, can play 17-22, mezzo belter.
JACK HORN — male, late teens/early 20’s, tenor
NEAL GAMM — male, late teens/early 20’s, bari-tenor
CYBELLINE — female, late teens/early 20’s, mezzo-soprano
“PAPPY” HORN – male, 50s-60s, baritone
THE FARMER/ARMSTRONG – male “Marlboro-man”, bass/baritone
THE BARBER/WARREN – male, tenor

A sweet play about Judge Francis Biddle as seen through the eyes of Sarah Schorr, his assistant in the last year of his life.
THE MOTHER/FULTON – female, alto
THE SHOPKEEPER/CASS – female, mezzo/sop

Equity auditions will be scheduled from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or at other times by request. Auditions will be assigned appointments in 10-15 minute increments. Please specify your preferred time and we will try to accommodate.
Please come prepared with two contrasting monologues. Musical roles please come prepared with 16 bars of rock, folk and/or gospel performance.
