The 2016 Annual Meeting, held on November 17th, marked several important changes as Founding Chairman Todd Ahrens stepped down after three years leading the organization. BCT Executive Director Joe Anderson praised Mr. Ahrens for his leadership and thanked him for having the courage to step up and back a new and unproven theater. Calling him an “early adopter”, he stressed how important Mr. Ahrens’ reputation and endorsement were to attracting the kind of community support necessary to successfully launch Bluff City Theater. Mr. Ahrens will continue to serve on the Board of Directors as Founding and Past Chairman.
Replacing Mr. Ahrens in the Chairman’s role is Kathleen Haycraft. Mrs. Haycraft has served on the board for the past two years and c0-chaired the very successful Special Events Committee which raised more than $15,000 at the Annual Gala last April.
Retiring from the board this year were Kristy Trevathan who served three years in a number of valuable roles and Kim Ahrens, who served one as chair of the Volunteer Development Committee. Three new directors were elected to the Board of Directors- Joel Booth, Anne Keddington and Kjersti Corey. Ms. Keddington and Ms. Corey are the first directors elected from the Quincy area and represent the growing importance of our Quincy-based audience.
