paintingA Democratic President, an opposing Congress, economic hardship, income and wealth disparity, unpopular foreign wars and a country tired of policing the world…this was the America that Franklin Delano Roosevelt inherited.

Clark A. Cruikshank brings his new introspective work to the stage in the world-premiere production of Unfinished:The Last Fireside Chat.  Against great odds and opposition, Roosevelt persevered-first to wrench the country out of The Great Depression and then to join the Allied effort to defeat the tyranny of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.  This play explores the man and the politician through his relationship with the nation and with his personal assistant, Margaret (Daisy) Stuckley who would become the curator of his presidential library after his death.

Sadly, Roosevelt died just weeks before VE Day and before many of his great dreams were realized.
