y Leary served the Samuel Clemens family as maid, governess, travel companion and confidante for 30 years.
In this remarkable play by Bernard Sabath, Katy is at a crossroads following the death of Mark Twain and must choose among three possible futures for herself. Does she enter the service of another prominent family? Does she open her own boarding house? Or does she accept the “proposal” of a former suitor who has followed her life and career in the newspapers, waiting for his chance to reclaim her affections?
This is a funny and poignant look at a life with Mark Twain suitable for audiences of all ages.
