This is it-your final four performances of Win Wells’ award-play Gertrude Stein and a Companion!

Laura Ackermann and Susie Wall star in this remarkable production, directed by 2015 St. Louis Theater Circle Outstanding Winner John Contini.  Seamlessly moving through time and space, the play examines the complex relationship between two of the greatest Women of Letters America has ever produced.  At heart, a love story, Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas forged a partnership that influenced modern art and literature for generations.

In their salon at 27 Rue du Fleurus, together with brother Leo, they assembled one of the greatest collections of avant-garde art ever seen- including Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Cezanne and Gaugin.  Stephen Schisler’s inspired set design remarkable captures the “junk-shop” character of their home.

Later, unable to find an American publisher for Stein’s avant-garde writing, the pair self-published, leading Toklas’ career as an influential literary agent for other significant authors.

You owe it to yourself to see Gertrude Stein and a Companion.  Performances are tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
