Bluff City Theater is offering two camps this summer, in conjunction with Hannibal Parks and Recreation

Session 1-Down By The River for kids 5-7 years

June 12th through June 16th

Down by the river is an exploratory program for younger children that marries theater, nature and literature. The week includes a creek walk, river observations, and reading stories about life in the river.  Children act out their own river scene as they make a river come to life with stick puppets, simple masks, body movements, and sounds. The camp ends with a short (15-20 min) performance for parents.

Session 2-Gone Fishin’ for kids 8-12

July 17th through July 21st

In this camp for older children,  we create our own “tall tale” fish story through exploring existing stories, including those of Mark Twain.  The camp includes outdoor activities exploring the river, theater games and exploration of literature built around a river theme.  This camp also ends with a short performance for friends and family.

Led by BCT’s youth coordinator, Gale Rublee, a certified storyteller, your kids will have a fun, creative and educational experience.  BCT’s Summer Camps are a great way to introduce your kids to theater and the power of imagination.

Both camps run from 10 a.m.-noon.  Cost is just $49 per child per session.  Enrollment is limited so please reserve your spots early.  For more information or to book online go to www.bluffcitytheater.com/yeti.summer-summer-camps-2017
