You Caught Me Dancing is the perfect choice!imgErin Kelley

You Caught Me Dancing, the heart-warming story of a lifetime spent alongside Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) and his family opens in preview on Thursday, June 2nd.  For 30 years, Katy Leary served and travelled with the family, sharing the triumphs and tragedies of America’s First Family of Letters.

In You Caught Me Dancing, playwright Bernard Sabath has captured the story of Mark Twain through the unique insights of one of the few people fortunate enough to know the man and his family on an intimate level for three decades.

Set in the Clemens family home, You Caught Me Dancing introduces Katy at the point where, for the first time in many years, she must make choices.  Does she move on to another prominent family?  Does she move to New York City and open a boarding house?  Or does she accept the “proposal” of a former suitor who has followed her career in the newspapers and reappears to claim her affections?

You Caught Me Dancing is a funny and poignant look at the life of Mark Twain as told by the woman who devoted 30 years of her life to him and his family.  Directed by St. Louis Theater Circle winner John Contini and starring Erin Kelley, 2015 nominee for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, this is the perfect family show for those interested in seeing stunning performances in our intimate 90-seat theater in Historic Downtown Hannibal.
