The Glass Menagerie stars St. Louis Theater Circle honoree Antonio Rodriguez as Tom, Laurie McConnell as his histrionic mother Amanda, Betsy Bowman as Laura and Michael Ferguson as Jim, the gentleman caller.

Award-winning Chicago-based actor Antonio Rodriguez is Tom in Tennessee Williams iconic classic about dysfunctional families.

This is the fifth and final production of the 2017 season at Bluff City Theater.  Coming off a sold-out closing weekend of Emily-The Musical, we follow up with what promises to be a brilliant production of one of America’s most iconic plays.  If you love fine theater, you will not want to miss this production.

Although the role of Amanda has traditionally been played by virtually every grande dame of theater, including Sally Field in the most recent award-winning Broadway run, as Grosberg-Ronga points out in this interview, the script (and logic) depict Amanda as a much-younger woman, likely in her mid to late 40’s.  Our production explores this idea which creates an interesting dynamic among the characters rarely seen in modern productions.

The Glass Menagerie opens in preview on July 20 and runs through July 29th.  As always, we have only 90 seats available for each performance, so book your tickets early to ensure the performance of your choice.  Adults are $26, 14 and under are $15 and a group of 4 is just $95.  Book online at www.eventshannibal.com or call the box office at 573-719-3226.

This production is made possible through a generous contribution from Dr. Michael and Sharon Bukstein.
